Gen F: The 2nd PANAF IMC Youth Congress (October 7, 2011)

Rise n’ shine! Woke up really early to have breakfast with my buddies at Mcdo Katipunan.
We’re inside the enemy’s territory! Haha, just kidding. Fortunately, the PANAF Youth Congress was held in Ateneo, a 20-30 minute walk away from my house. For once, I didn’t need to stress about taking the LRT just to get to my destination. Haha!
With my breakfast buddies, Dianne and Lance, en route to Irwin Theater! Yes, we walked from Mcdo all the way to the theater.
This is my lucky ticket! You’ll figure out why later on. Hihi.
The New Audience segment with the first set of speakers, (in the photo, from the right)Shawn YaoToff de VeneciaCarlo Ople (a.k.a the most romantic guy Tessa has ever known), and Tricia Gosingtian with panel discussion moderator, Tessa Prieto-Valdez.
The New Shapers segment with speakers, (in the photo, from the left) Brandie TanVic IcasasMei Marasigan-BrantzegTin Sanchez and Dave Buenviaje.
Lunch break with some of my fellow Adver coursemates! Food (lasagna and hotdog sandwich) and drinks (C2, Coffee Twist, etc.) were provided.
And of course, we had to take a group picture before going back to the theater.
Before moving on to the next set of speakers, we had two ice breakers: Radyo Roleta and an interactive game, which makes use of sensors (I forgot what it’s called).
Tim Yap was the only speaker who didn’t have a PowerPoint presentation, yet he was still able to pull it off and gave us an equally inspiring story. Also, he was so generous that he gave away (2) tickets to Cali Swag District Live in Manila on October 7 for each person that asked him a question and gave all the attendees of Gen F free entrance to Republiq on October 8!
The New (Broadcast) Media segment with speakers, (in the photo from the right) Miguel Mercado, Cookie Bartolome, and Ernie Lopez with their panel discussion moderator.
After this segment, three more segments followed:
  • The New Shakers with Sid Maderazo, Angelo Sta. Catalina, and Paul John Pena
  • Bloggers+Publishers+Philippine Comics with Vernon Go, Budjette Tan, and Mon Punzalan & Jowee alviar of Team Manila
  • The New CSR with John Chua, Joseph Anthony Quesada and Ivan Henares
Gen F ended around 8PM and we went home with a lot of freebies! Aside from the loot bags, we also got:
free concert tickets to Everytime I Die and The Acacia Strain Live in Manila on October 8, 2011 and to Lenka Live in Manila on October 9, 2011
and free back issues of magazines!
I also won a pair of loafers from Kickers in the raffle (thanks to my lucky ticket)!
Before we parted ways and went home, my coursemates and I had dinner atKenny Rogers Roasters Katipunan.
I feel bad that I didn’t get to take a picture with the 3 Ts (Tim Yap, Tricia Gosingtian, and Tessa Prieto-Valdez). Nevertheless, it was a great experience! I’m definitely looking forward to the next PANAF IMC Youth Congress.

Thanks to my bestfriend, Dianne Lino, for some of the photos!
